Principal Investigator

Dr. Glenda Mason

Dr. Mason holds a B.Sc. and MSLP from the University of Alberta, and a PhD in Audiology and Speech Sciences from UBC. She is a Registered Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) and a UBC Research Associate and Lecturer.

At UBC, Dr. Mason’s research focuses on children’s speech development. Her course teaching topics are on developmental communication disorders.

Before coming to UBC, Dr. Mason worked clinically for many years, providing assessments and therapy for preschool and school-aged children with a variety of communication disorders. As collaborative and client-centered approaches developed, Dr. Mason worked on professional teams with parents/caregivers, teachers, educational assistants, psychologists, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists. She also participated in clinical education of SLP students, and served on committees for provincial and national professional associations.
